The Greatest Thing: Free Printable

One of my all time favorite chick-flicks is {Moulin Rouge}. I love everything about it: the music, the theatricality, the romance, Ewan McGregor's singing, the immorality... okay... maybe not everything...

I absolute LOVE the line: "the greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love & be loved in return."  I love it so much, Mr. Nag & I hung it up in our bedroom.  Seriously, what a way to sum up how we should live!

Since it's the time to share LOVE, I wanted to show my love for our readers & create a printable with this fantastic saying!  Bonus:  I made multiple versions  (they are 8x10).  If you don't have a place to put it, this would be a great wedding gift (that's what I did for the last wedding we went to).

Last Minute Valentine Decor

So much for my 'I'll blog more crafts this year' resolution, I know. However, I have a decent excuse. At the beginning of the year, I was asked to be the director of a musical drama put on by my {church} called {Savior of the World}. That's pretty much been taking all of my extra time and will be until April. Which is great/challenging/daunting all at the same time because it's a play about our Savior, Jesus Christ. Wish me luck!

Since I have a pretty big addiction to crafting, I couldn't help myself for Valentine's Day. I wanted to have something up---so I needed it to be easy, fast, and cute. Last year a wreath tutorial from {The Idea Room} was huge around the blogging world. So huge I couldn't find a heart-shaped wreath until April. I bought one and it sat in my office until a few days ago when I have it some HEART!

I took the tutorial from TIR and {Little Birdie Secrets} and made them into something different and more my style.

My Notes:
  • I used 1/2 yard duck cloth, 3/4 yard of v-day fabric, and 2 fat quarters of a coordinating fabric. I cut them into 3 by 3 inch squares.
  • I used the straight pin-technique from TIR because the glue just wasn't working for me.
  • It took one evening to do, the next morning I used a scrap felt piece, some ribbon, and my glue gun to give it a place to hang.
I also made a table runner, inspired by the other ones I made from {THIS} tutorial. I think I'm going to go through all the holidays and make one for each--- including my normal decor. Notice my SOTW stuff spread all over the table... like I said... my life until April. :)

Happy V-Day everyone!

A Contest Entry

Here it is. My submission for Red Heart Yarn and JoAnn's crochet/knit contest. As part of the rules, he is made from from eco-friendly yarn. I bought four colors of this kind of yarn. 70% of the yarn is acrylic while the other 30% is made from recycled products. They'll be judging on technicality, orginality, use of color, and quality. I believe that I did what I could in those categories. I had plans to make a little star and heart for him to hold but with how the arms turned out I thought that would be funny looking. He is about 12.5" tall from ear tip to toe and 8.25" wide from hand to hand. Wish me luck! I won't know if I made the top five until the end of March. ^^

Oh, I also made some Valentine's for my roommates. They all seemed to really like them. They're made out of vellum, scrapbook paper, and craft foam.
